It’s no surprise to us that one of the most-searched terms regarding Jesmonite® is ‘Why are Jesmonite products not sold in the US?’
But the good news is – it is!
We worked hard behind the scenes to make it happen because we knew the demand was there. And guess what, it’s exploded!
Expect more US resellers
Washington-based FTC Creative became the first reseller in America in November 2023. The demand for Jesmonite® products has been so big that the people behind the company opened a second base in Arizona, increased their workforce and are now operating as the official Jesmonite® hub for the U.S. with resellers all over the country.
This means people across the USA can get their hands on Jesmonite® products faster and in a more efficient and cost effective way.
FTC Creative has been to many fairs to spread the word about what you can make with Jesmonite® materials.
They’ve been to industrial trade shows such as World of Concrete (where they won an award for creative concrete!) and the International Builders Show, as well as shows for creative people such as Creativation by The International Art Materials Association (NAMTA).
At Creativation they ran a workshop that was so popular people were talking about Jesmonite® materials and how amazing it was in the queue for other workshops.
FTC Creative also exhibited at H+H Americas, a leading fabric and textiles show, where they highlighted just one of the many creative ways to mix Jesmonite® with other mediums. They demonstrated magnetic pin holders designed to appeal to quilters and sewists by embedding magnets inside their chunky trays and casting Jesmonite® over the top to conceal them. The project drew a lot of interest from attendees, with numerous inquiries about pin holder kits for textile shops and exciting new collaboration opportunities.
Setting up the hub
But their hard work has not stopped there. FTC has also launched new packaging with their own branding – so you’ll always know when it’s a genuine Jesmonite® product.
Their ‘retail forward and fun’ packaging colour coordinates the different Jesmonite® materials so customers can easily spot what should be used together. They’ve also increased the size of packages offered so ‘there is no economic barrier’ for customers to buy it in whatever size they desire, small, medium, large, extra large or extra extra large!
They also created starter kits for those who are new to Jesmonite® and want to check it out at an affordable entry point, which have been very popular.
Jen and Zach Ross are the husband and wife team behind FTC Creative and said everything has really come together in America.
Jen said: “It’s been received amazingly, we had the biggest sale month we have ever had the first month after we launched our new website, which was brilliant.
“Wholesale orders are going out and we have an application process for resellers who are coming on board too. We’re also in talks with chain stores to get Jesmonite® products stocked there too.
“We are really looking forward to the next year or so, I believe in the product and if people see it in action, the more they get it. The interest is growing and growing – I love to see the limits people push with Jesmonite®, what they make is always mind-blowing to me.
“We’re proud of our new packaging too. We wanted it to be nice and clean but with pops of colour, it’s versatile so we wanted to grab people’s attention.”
Jen and Zach have over 30 years’ experience in distribution and already had a 30,000 square foot warehouse.
Popular product
FTC Creative now has a popular YouTube channel, newsletter and a growing following on Instagram.
“The word is spreading in the US,” Jen added.
“I always ask people at the shows if they have heard of the Jesmonite® brand, and more often I am getting a yes now, much more than we used to.
“We still feel like we are building and spreading knowledge – YouTubers are featuring Jesmonite® products on their channels and even those in fine art and industries you may not think would want to hear about it.”
FTC now has resellers in Nebraska, California and Washington and plan to have a presence at more shows on the East Coast next year.
They aim to ‘march across the country’ and said they can feel the buzz about Jesmonite® products every day.
“Even in our office, everyone here is really excited about the products,” Jen said.
“We have a crafty crew of people and even at our holiday party where we did a stained glass workshop. We spoke to the organisers about Jesmonite® products and our staff themselves could see the buzz around it. Those organisers are now running Jesmonite® workshops too!”
