The Queens Award

Here at Jesmonite we have some fantastic news which we’re absolutely delighted to be able to share with you. We have been handed an award by none other than Her Majesty The Queen! We are thrilled to say we’ve been given the award to recognise our outstanding achievements across worldwide business markets. Being handed the Queen’s Award for International Trade, recognising Outstanding Short Term Growth in overseas sales over the last three years, is a huge feather in our hat.

Recognising growth

We were given the award because over three years to June 2021, our overseas sales have grown by 108% and now make up 45.7% of all sales. Our top five markets are South Korea, Bahrain, Netherlands, Spain and Japan. We are extremely proud to be given this prestigious accolade – it is a huge achievement for this company and the hard work of all our staff.

Look out for the flag

Soon we’ll be presented with a Queen’s Awards flag to fly at our Bishop’s Castle office, an official certificate and a commemorative crystal trophy. These will be presented by Anna Turner, Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Shropshire. In total 232 businesses have been given awards, representing a range of sectors across the UK to be recognised by Her Majesty The Queen on her birthday as among the best in the country. We are one of only four in Shropshire to be named as winners!

The winners pass a robust assessment process, judged by senior officials in Whitehall and experts from industry, academia and the third sector. On that basis, the winners of The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are recommended by the Prime Minister to Her Majesty The Queen.

Minister comments

Small Business Minister Paul Scully said: “This country is renowned for its entrepreneurial achievements and there is no greater showcase for it than The Queen’s Awards.

“It’s vital we celebrate the success of our businesses and recognise the contributions they make to communities across the country.

“I congratulate this year’s winners for their hard work and commitment over the last year and I wish them every success for the future.”
