A former model and actress, Taiany Borges from São Paulo, Brazil, has built up her business from scratch, is helping customers and other businesses make the most of Jesmonite® materials and aims to be an inspiration for other women in business.
Since she specifically set up her company to sell Jesmonite® products and became the first Jesmonite® reseller in South America in 2022, it has grown beyond her wildest dreams and has seen investors take her to the next stage – but having studied business, she is keeping customers at the heart of it.
“Everything is coming fast,” she said.
“We are doing B2B trade in Columbia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil and more.
“As we are now a hub, we have resellers coming on board and are slowly building on the business. We have a lot of enquiries but only take five or ten new businesses on at a time because when they do come on board, we sell a lot of Jesmonite® products to them very quickly because the product is great.
“But we want to manage the supply and demand and ensure we have enough products to cater for the demand, our business reputation and customer service is very important to me.
“I also think it is important to know who is selling Jesmonite® products, we have a reputation and we want to control who and how it is being sold, how they pitch it.
“We do not want the final consumer to buy Jesmonite® products and not know how to use the product, we teach the resellers everything.”
Since becoming a hub, Jesmonite Brazil has introduced new packaging, changed the finish on the labels and made them square to reflect the fact Jesmonite® is a premium product.
They now also have two websites, one specifically for Brazil and the other for international sales to customers.
For businesses interested in becoming a reseller they can contact Taiany and her team directly.
“I am very proud, when I stop and think how the business has grown,” she added.
“It started in my home and now we have a big warehouse with big pallets of stock, six members of staff and more people freelancing when demand is there.
“We have thousands of tonnes of Jesmonite® materials now, whereas before we had some kilograms of it.
“There is more to come too.”
Among her direct customers are well known designers making sinks and furniture as well as large scale construction companies and jewellery makes.
Taiany has arranged for a Brazilian TV show about the construction industry to feature Jesmonite® products at a big architecture and design event, the biggest in Latin America, will have one of her clients there with a bench on display made from Jesmonite® products.
Originally from Rio, Taiany also has another aim. She wants to champion women in business.
“The majority of makers and the majority of products made using Jesmonite® materials are made by women,” she added.
“In Brazil most of the companies are run by men but our company is different because we are a business mainly for women, run by a woman.
“I want to empower women and work together to grow each other’s businesses.”
She is also continuing to create tutorials and videos on Instagram, having been the first to create these in Portuguese, is filming new videos for her YouTube channel and loves the online creative community – she is not leaving them for B2B as Jesmonite® Brazil becomes a hub, she is just expanding her business and does not want to stop selling directly to the public.
