Jesmonite AC730 Flex Metal IMO compliance helps secure luxury cruise ship project
07 Sep 2018
Congratulations to Feathercast Limited, an approved manufacturer of Jesmonite who have been awarded a contract to supply decorative bronze effect panels for a luxury cruise ship. All Jesmonite materials have been tested under the Euroclass System of reaction to fire but in order to win the contract Feathercast had to demonstrate the safety of the materials to International Maritime Organisation standards (IMO). The Jesmonite AC730 Flex Metal composite was successfully tested under IMO Resolution MSC 307 (88) Annex 1: Parts 2 and 5 by Exova, Warrington Fire. The criteria for smoke generation, toxicity and low flame spread were all successfully achieved in compliance with IMO regulations and the International Convention for Safety of life at Sea, 1974.
