Family business adds Jesmonite to their extensive range of art products as the distributor in Malta

A family run business with 95 years’ experience has become the distributor of Jesmonite in Malta.

Vee Gee Bee Art signed up to distribute our popular material after their artist clientele and team mentioned the product and were keen to try working with it.

Kenneth Gauci Borda is the third generation of his family to run the business – which is named after his grandfather Vincent – and said it was always an exciting time when adding a new range for people to create with.

Flexibility for artists

He said: “It is a new medium we’re keen to add to our range of art supplies and we are pleased to be the distributor of Jesmonite in Malta.

“We signed up to distribute the material based on what we have been told by artists and creatives in the industry as well as based on our own research.

“They say it is easy to use and a step forward from art resin, which is very popular locally.”

Vee Gee Bee, which started in 1927, will also sell all ancillaries for Jesmonite – as well as continuing to provide an extensive range of art supplies such as paintbrushes, easels, canvases, paints and much more.

The company first started selling art materials in the early 1940s and now has two strands of the business, one focused on paint and decoration and the other on art materials, which is where Jesmonite will be sold from.

Experiment with new material

The team at Vee Gee Bee Art are all artists and Kenneth said they are eager to start experimenting with Jesmonite.

“They all like to try new mediums so are looking forward to working with Jesmonite,” he said.

“They are all well informed about the full range of products we sell so it is important to our business and clients that they experiment with it themselves.

“That way they will be able to answer any questions our clients may have and also guide them with insights and tips on how best to create with the product.  We pride ourselves on great customer service, whether clients are shopping in store or through our online shop.

“Many people in Malta don’t know about Jesmonite yet, so at first it is about getting people to try out the product and encouraging artists to get creative and experiment with something new.”
