Meet the team: Dan Parker

The last meet the team blog of 2022!

As part of introducing you to more and more of the wonderful team here, this month we’ve got a new starter for you to learn a little about just as he’s learning as much as he can about the business. You can see some previous blogs here and here.

Name: Dan Parker

Job title: Account Manager

How long have you worked at Jesmonite? 6 months

What is on your bucket list?
Not in any order:

  • Would like to try skiing in the Alps
  • Disneyland
  • American road trip
  • A round at the home of golf – St Andrews, The Old Course.

What do you love about working at Jesmonite? The people. Internally and externally the people have been so friendly and welcoming. I am truly excited to be a part of the journey and the unwritten Jesmonite story.

What is your favourite quote? I don’t really have one but over the last few years I have adopted ‘let it go, let it go’

What is something you’re planning on doing in the next year that you’ve never done?

Camping with the kids – could be a disaster but I know they’ll love it!

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working? I work a lot! But seriously, I am a keen golfer so I enjoy getting out on the course when I can – trying not to lose too many balls (they’re expensive!).

I also have 2 young children (Finley, 7, and Darcy, 3) as well as a corgi (Sammy) who consume the rest of my time.

What is an interesting fact about you? Before I had started primary school, I had travelled the majority of mainland Europe. I was very lucky to take one of the first trips on the le shuttle / Eurotunnel after it was opened in 1994.

Tell us something we don’t know about you? I love penguins! I’ve wanted to adopt one the last 3 times we visited the zoo.

Have you made anything using Jesmonite? Yes, I used the Jesmonite starter kits and made some very appealing colourful coasters with my family.

What is your favourite country you’ve ever visited? My favourite place would have to be Lanzarote. I have lots of fond memories in Lanzarote as a child and I even got married there to my wife (Aimee) in 2016.

What is the best advice someone has given you? Be true to yourself, don’t change – that’s good enough!

What’s one thing you’re learning now or learned recently? My primary focus right now is learning about the Jesmonite products to assist our lovely distributors across the UK and the world.

What’s your guilty pleasure? Clothes shopping – I love it!

So, if you haven’t yet worked with Dan we are sure you soon will.

And next time you’re talking to him, feel free to break into song and if you belt out that well known ‘Frozen’ hit, he’s sure to join in!

It’s great to be able to introduce you to so many of our staff members whether they’ve been here for two weeks or ten years!
